Data Protection Overview
Collection of Information
We collect information via our Site about you only when it is for a legitimate purpose and does not infringe on your data-protection interests, rights, or freedoms. Generally, these legitimate purposes include maintaining our Site’s security and the services offered by our company; sales and marketing activities; and maintaining, providing, and enhancing the technology, products, and services we offer.
What personal information do we collect from the sites’ visitors?
On our Site, you may be asked to enter some personal information, such as your name, phone number, Skype, or email address, to allow us to help you with your request and experience using our services. This is done via a contact form. You are not obliged to provide us with any personal data. However, not doing so means we may not be able to provide you with the services you require. In addition, our Site, along with third-party vendors, such as Google (Google Analytics cookies) or other third-party vendors, collect data regarding our Site’s users to help personalize your experience, improve our services and understanding of our users. This information DOES NOT include identifying information, such as your name, email, location data, or IP address.
When is the information collected?
Personal, identifying information is ONLY collected when you fill in the contact forms on the Site. This information allows us to get in touch with you if and when you request services. In addition, data may be collected from the Site using the vendors mentioned in the previous paragraph. We advise you to carefully review their privacy policies and contact them directly with any questions that arise. At Cogniteq, we never transfer or sell your information to third-party vendors without your consent. Note, if you do not want any information to be collected by tracking technology, we suggest you engage the help of tools such as the Advertising Alliance Opt-Out Tool or Google Analytics Opt Out Browser add-on.
Use of Data
Data collected via our Site may be used for a number of purposes, these include:
・ To allow the Site to operate fully, maintenance, optimization, and provision of services;
・ To allow us to detect, prevent and tackle any technical issues;
・ To respond to online inquiries and requests from potential clients;
・ To deliver news, offers, and other information about our services (excluding when you have opted out of these notifications);
・ To ensure we deliver appropriate and useful content and to improve on such content;
・ To deliver a more personalized experience for our users, including to present you with the type of content you are most interested in;
・ For other legitimate business purposes in a lawful matter.
Retention of Data
We only retain your data when there is a legitimate business or legal purpose to do this. Generally, to define this, we use two criteria:
・ Do we have a legal, contractual, or other obligation to retain this data?
・ Do we require this data to provide our services efficiently?
We will not retain your data where we have no legitimate reason to do so. If we collect your personal data, we will delete it, and, if this isn’t feasible, for example, data is stored in a backup archive, we will isolate it and store it securely. It will not be processed further.
It is our role to protect the Site’s visitors and, in turn, our clients from unauthorized activity. This includes attempts to access, modify, disclose, or destroy the data we hold. We do this in the following way:
・ Our experts continuously upgrade and improve the methods we collect, store, and process data. This includes physical and digital security measures. Sensitive or personal data entered into our system is protected and encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.
・ We protect your information and store it, where there is a legitimate reason to do so, with secured networks.
・ We limit our team’s internal access to personal data and instigate stringent contractual obligations with severe penalties for their breach.
Under this policy, you hold the following data protection rights:
・ You can request the correction of inaccurate, incomplete, or other personal information;
・ You can request for personal information to be deleted;
・ You can opt-out and opt-in to the processing of personal information. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing action taken by us prior to the withdrawal of your consent. Nor does it affect the processing of personal information related to reliance on lawful processing grounds, aside from consent.
At any time, you can contact us to find out more about how your information is stored, update your information, or withdraw consent. You can also alter your data or marketing preferences, as well. To do so, contact us at email@example.com. You may be required to verify your identity to complete this step.
We grant permission to temporarily download a singular copy of materials, including information or software, on the Site for personal, non-commercial viewing usage. This doesn’t constitute the transfer of title; instead, it is a temporary license. You may not:
・ Alter, modify, copy or share the materials;
・ Display these materials publicly or use them for commercial purposes;
・ Utilize any materials on the Site to attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any of our software;
・ Delete any copyright or proprietary notions from the Site’s materials;
・ Share or transfer these materials to a third-person or create a “mirror” of the materials on another server.
This license shall be automatically terminated if any of these clauses are violated, or at the discretion of Cogniteq. If the license has been terminated, you must destroy any downloaded materials that you possess, both in printed and electronic form.
Posts and content on the Site are made at Cogniteq’s discretion. The information contained on the Site should not be assumed to be current or updated. Materials on the Site may include technical, typographical, photographic, or other errors. Cogniteq does not continuously back review previous posts to establish whether they are up-to-date with accurate and current information. We do not claim that materials and information contained on the Site are full, accurate, complete, reliable, useful, or up to date. Materials and content may be changed at any time without notice. In addition, we do not commit to updating the Site.
Cogniteq and its suppliers are in no event liable for damages (inclusive of loss of data or profit, or business interruption) due to the use or inability to access or use the materials on the Site. This applies even if Cogniteq’s official representative has been notified of such damage (orally or in writing). Note, these limitations may not apply in your jurisdiction if limited warranties or limitations on liability, consequential, and accidental damage are outlawed.
